Aligarh : The department of Pharmacology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organized a guest lecture by Professor Ahmad Waseem on “An Introduction to the FRIS (Friends of Researchers in the Indian Subcontinent).” The session commenced with an introduction of the distinguished speaker by Prof. Syed Ziaur Rahman, Chairman of the Department of Pharmacology.
Professor Ahmad Waseem, an expert in Molecular and Cellular Oral Biology, is associated with the Centre for Immunobiology and Regenerative Medicine at the Institute of Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), UK. An alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, He provided an overview of the FRIS charity, promoting biomedical education and research collaboration between the UK/EU and the Indian subcontinent. He highlighted the pivotal role of international partnerships in addressing global health challenges through collaborative biomedical research.
The program was chaired by Prof. S. M. Hadi, Former Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, and Dr. Naushin H Waseem of Barts Cancer Institute, King’s College London.
Dr. Riya Sharma conducted the proceedings, and Dr. Jameel Ahmad, presented appreciation to Professor Waseem for his contribution to the academic discourse.
The participants engaged in a lively discussion, posing questions and gaining a deeper understanding of global research initiatives.
