The University of Delhi (DU) is set to introduce a PhD program in Hindu Studies starting from the upcoming academic year. This initiative, proposed by the Governing Body of the Centre for Hindu Studies, aims to offer students enhanced academic opportunities in this field. Detailed information about the program will be available on the university’s official website for interested candidates.
To be eligible for admission, applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Hindu Studies with a minimum of 55% marks and must have qualified the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or National Eligibility Test (NET). In addition, candidates must pass the university’s PhD eligibility test. Relaxations will be provided for students from reserved categories as outlined in the PhD brochure.
Initially, the program will offer 10 seats, including those reserved for specific categories. The number of available seats is expected to increase in the future based on the academic demand for the course.
The proposal for the program has been recommended by the Centre’s Governing Board and will soon be presented to the Academic Council.
