The Delhi High Court has summoned responses from the Government of NCT Delhi and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) alleging the denial of Right to Education (RTE) benefits to over 6 lakh students due to the absence of bank accounts. The PIL, filed by social jurists, claims that students are being deprived of statutory benefits guaranteed under RTE. The next hearing is scheduled for April 10, 2024, following a notice issued to the respondents.
