The High Court of Delhi has notified its arrangement for hearing of urgent matters during summer vacations, which will start from June 3 and will continue till June 30, 2023.

The arrangement will be in the following terms:-

Justice Chandra Dhari Singh and Justice Girish Kathpalia will sit in the Vacation Bench from June 3 to 9, while Justice Jasmeet Singh and Justice Vikas Mahajan will conduct hearings under the Vacation Bench from June 10 to 16.

Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju and Justice Amit Mahajan will conduct the High Court proceedings as Vacation Bench from June 17 to 23, while Justice C. Hari Shankar and Justice Manoj Jain will do the same from June 24 to 30.

A notification was issued in this regard on Wednesday by the Registrar General, which stated that the judges will sit in Division Benches first and then singly to hear urgent Civil and Criminal matters and other cases as may be placed before them.

It said the High Court Judges usually sat in the High Court on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and such other days as they may think fit at 10:30 am. The sitting may continue for the next succeeding day if the matters fixed for any day were not finished on that day, it added.

As per the Registrar General, if one of the judges was not available on any day for any unforeseen reason, the other judge may sit alone, subject to the condition that the such judge shall not dismiss the Division Bench matters under proviso to Rule 3 Chapter 3-B, High Court Rules and Orders Volume V.

The notification further said that the office of the Court would remain open daily from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm except on second and fourth Saturday, apart from Sundays and other holidays, if any.
