The Delhi High Court has asked the UGC to clarify whether CUET is mandatory for admission to 5-year law degree courses in central universities. This comes after conflicting statements from UGC officials regarding the issue. The court has requested an affidavit from the UGC Chairman within three days. The court has also directed Delhi University to state whether admissions to the integrated law course will be based on CLAT this year only or in subsequent years as well. The matter will be heard on September 18, with the Additional Solicitor General of India requested to assist.
