The dean of the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College, Dr Ashish Banginwar, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of INR10 lakh ($13,400). Dr Banginwar had requested INR16 lakhs from a medical practitioner in return for his son to be given an MBBA seat at the college in Pune.
