Shri Bhupender Yadav launches Aravalli Green Wall Project, a major initiative to green 5 km buffer area around the Aravalli Hill Range in five states

  • Shri Bhupender Yadav launched the Aravalli Green Wall Project in Haryana. At a function organized to celebrate the International Day of Forests at Tigli village in Haryana, Shri Bhupender launched the Aravalli Green Wall Project, a major initiative to green a 5 km buffer zone around the Aravalli range in five states.
  • Shri Yadav unveiled a National Action Plan to combat desertification and land degradation through forest interventions.

Utah passes law requiring parents approval for kids to use social media

  • Republican Governor Spencer Cox signed two measures requiring parental consent before children can register on social media sites. Utah became the first state to pass laws restricting children’s use of social media.
  • The law helps prevent tech companies from using drug-like features to lure children into their apps.

Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Policy– 2023

  • State Disaster Management Policy and Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Plan – 2023 was released by CM Stalin.
  • This State Disaster Management Plan provides information on precautionary measures and capacity building exercises to deal with various types of disasters like floods, tsunamis, cyclones, droughts, heat waves, landslides, earthquakes, accidents at chemical plants and nuclear power plants.

PM Modi inaugurated the Bangalore Metro Rail Service

  • Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Madhusudhan Sai College of Medical Sciences and Research in Chikballapur, Bangalore in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Pummy.
  • After that, he inaugurated the metro rail service for a distance of about 13 km between KRpuram-Whitefield in Bangalore.

Pandya period sculpture at Thanjavur

  • A 7 feet high slab stone relief sculpture of Brahma Shasta was found at Thanjavur. Depicted with black crown on head, veerachangili on chest and four arms.
  • The 7 feet tall Brahma Shasta sculpture has not been found anywhere else in Tamil Nadu. The design of this sculpture shows the art of early Pandyas.

  • Portugal face Liechtenstein in the qualifying match for the Euro football series.The match was Ronaldo’s 197th international cap.

India’s Nitu Gangas wins gold at World Women’s Boxing Championships

  • The 13th World Women’s Boxing Championship was held in Delhi. In the final of the 48 kg category, Indian player Nitu Kangas clashed with Mongolian player Lutsihan Atletsetkai.
  • India’s Nitu Gangas won the gold medal by defeating the Mongolian player on the basis of 5-0 points and set a record.

  • Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan from 1947 to 1971. Bangladesh became an independent country on 26 March 1971.​
  • In this war of liberation Bangladesh’s Mukti Vagini Force won against Pakistan with the help of Indian Army. Bangladeshi people celebrate this day as Independence Day.​
