Confusion prevailed at . Students and parents gathered at KEA complaining that the qualifying examination (class 12) marks were not considered for ranking. As a result, many students did not receive their ranking. When The Indian Express spoke to students gathered at KEA, it was learnt the qualifying examination marks were not considered for ranking despite uploading the documents during the application process. Some also said rankings were not allotted to students who did not manually enter their QE marks, but instead uploaded the mark sheet as an attachment.

A KEA official however clarified that the QE marks would not have been considered if the candidate has entered the wrong student number during the application process. In the case of CBSE and ICSE students, the candidates are supposed to manually enter the QE marks and not attach the mark sheet as a PDF document. In case of state board students, the KEA will automatically take the marks from the PU board. In the case of other boards, the students need to manually upload the QE marks. If the candidate has entered the wrong student number and in other cases attached the document, the rankings will not be allotted,” said a KEA official.
