Aspiring to serve the nation? To become a District Magistrate (DM) or Collector, a candidate must clear the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Achieving a top rank in this highly competitive exam is essential to secure a place in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Once selected as an IAS officer, promotions are earned based on performance and seniority, eventually leading to the role of DM or Collector. One such officer from the UP Cadre, Arvind Chauhan, recently gained attention on social media platform.
IAS officer Arvind Chauhan, a 2015 batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, is currently serving as the District Magistrate and Collector of Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh. Known for his unique working style, he recently surprised everyone with his approach.
As per media reports, DM Arvind Chauhan took matters into his own hands after receiving repeated complaints about referrals to private institutions for ultrasounds at the Sadar Community Health Center (CHC). In a bid to investigate the issue personally, he decided to act discreetly. Without notifying anyone, the DM disguised himself as a common man, donned a mask, and rode a bike from the Collectorate to the CHC for a surprise inspection.
