Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)
is conducted to provide admission into various UG law courses at 24 NLUs & PG law courses at 21 NLUs. Admission is offered to 5-year integrated LLB and one-year LLM law courses through this entrance exam.

CLAT 2026 Application Form

  • CLAT 2026 registration will begin from the first week of July 2025.
  • Candidates will be able to fill out the application form through online mode, no offline method will be accepted.
  • Before proceeding to fill the application form, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria from below:
  • Registration procedure includes various steps such as registration, filling up of details, uploading documents, updating NLU preference, fee submit, etc.
  • There will be no correction facility provided by the authority, so make sure to submit the details carefully.
  • Now fill the application form and upload the documents such as photograph, signature & other required certificates in PDF format.
  • Recheck the filled details in the application form and submit the form on the website.
  • Do not forget to take a hardcopy of the form and keep it safe till the admission procedure.

Application Fee:​

  • The CLAT 2026 application fee will be submitted through online mode.
  • Candidates will be able to submit the fee using credit card, debit card, pay wallet, RU pay only.

How to Apply for CLAT 2026

  • Step-1: Go to the website of CLAT (Link will be mentioned above).
  • Step-2: Press the available link “CLAT 2026” on the webpage.
  • Step-3: Now click on “Don’t have any account? Register button” & a login form will appear on the screen.
  • Step-4: A registration window will pop up on the screen and start registering yourself by entering the details.
  • Step-5: Fill the preference among all the 22 national law universities in the form.
  • Step-6: After filling the details, upload the necessary documents in PDF format.
  • Step-7: Submit the application fee using available gateways and submit the form.
  • Step-8: Take a printout of the filled form & keep it safe till admission.

CLAT 2026 Application Correction


The consortium of National Law Universities will not provide any CLAT 2026 application correction. In case candidates will send any correction request to the authority then may be the facility will be started. Correction window will expect to be started after closing the registration window.

The CLAT 2026 application correction will be provided through online mode only. Candidates are suggested to fill their application form carefully. As till now, the authority has not provided any correction facility to make correction in the form.

CLAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria


Candidates can check the complete CLAT 2026 eligibility criteria from below:

General Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Indian Nationals/ NRI/ NRI Sponsored will be eligible to apply.
  • Age Limit: For UG & PG courses, there will be no upper age limit to apply.

For UG Courses:

  • Qualification: Candidates must pass class 12th level from a recognized board/ university to be eligible for UG courses.
  • Marks: At least 45% marks must be scored by general category and 40% marks for SC/ ST category candidates to be eligible.
  • Appearing: Class 12th appearing candidates will also be eligible to apply for the entrance exam.

For PG Courses:

  • Qualifying Exam: For PG courses, candidates must pass LLB, or 5-year integrated or its equivalent from a recognized institute/ university.
  • Marks: In the qualifying exam, candidates must score at least 50% marks and 45% marks in case of reserved category (SC/ST) to apply.
  • Appearing: Those final year appearing candidates in April/ May 2026 will also be eligible to apply for the exam.

CLAT 2026 Exam Pattern

  • Exam Mode: Exam will be conducted through offline (Pen-paper based) mode.
  • Sections: There will be total 5 sections in UG exam.
  • Duration: Total 2 hours will be provided to solve the paper.
  • Questions Type: Paper will consist of Multiple- Choice Questions (MCQs) & Subjective type questions.
  • Medium: There will be only English language available.
  • Number of Questions: Total 120 questions will be asked for both UG & PG examination.

CLAT 2026 Admit Card


Consortium of NLUs will be released the CLAT 2026 admit card in third week of November 2025. There will be no offline facility available to download the admit card. Candidates will have to visit the website through online mode and download it.

Candidates will have to use their login credentials such as registration number/ application number and date of birth to access the admit card. After downloading it, candidates must take a hardcopy of it for the day of exam. To bring the original admit card to the center along with the valid photo ID will be mandatory.

CLAT 2026 Answer Key


The CLAT 2026 answer key will be published after completing the examination. Candidates will be able to download the answer key through online mode. It will be available in the form of PDF on the website.

There will be all the correct answers to the asked questions in the exam will be available in it. Appeared candidates in the exam will be eligible to access the answer key. In case of any discrepancy in answer key, candidates can raise an objection against it through online mode. The final answer key will publish after analyzing all the raise objection by the candidates.

CLAT 2026 Result


CLAT 2026 Result will be announced by the authority through online mode only. It will be released in the third week of December 2025. Result of CLAT 2026 will consist with the qualifying status of all test- takers. Candidates will be required to use their login credentials to download the result from the website.

On the basis of the final answer key, the result will be prepared by the authority. after download the result, candidates must keep it safe till the counselling procedure. Qualified candidates in the exam will be called to participate in the CLAT 2026 counselling sessions.

CLAT 2026 Cut Off


The CLAT 2026 cut off marks will be released by the authority through online mode. It will be released for all the participating National Law Universities after each round of counselling. It will be released separately for both UG and PG courses.

Cut off will be different for each participating NLUs. The cut offs for top NLUs will be higher generally. There will be various factors such as difficulty level, total candidates shortlisted which affect cutoff marks. Generally, the cut off marks will be minimum marks or rank required to secure admission to a various national law university.

CLAT 2026 Counselling


The counselling of CLAT 2026 will be organized from the last week of December 2025. Those qualified candidates in the entrance exam will be eligible to participate in counselling procedure. During counselling session, candidates will have to indicate their NLUs preference online where they want to take admission by centralized counselling.

For both UG & PG programmes, the counselling procedure will be held separately. The authority will release a seat allotment for each participating NLUs after each round of counselling. Various rounds will be organized by the authority in counselling as per the available seats. Applicants will also have to bring a original documents for verification procedure.
