BSJ Hall hosts Annual Hall Dinner Celebrating Academic Excellence & Achievements

Aligarh : Begum Sultan Jahan Hall at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) was adorned with warmth and festivity as it hosted its Annual Hall Dinner. The event witnessed a gathering of guests, dignitaries, and members of the academic community, marking a celebration of accomplishments of unity and academic pursuit.

The Chief Guest for the evening was Professor Mohammad Gulrez, the Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University. Special Guest Professor Naima Khatoon, Principal of Women’s College, along with other guests including Professor Rafiuddin DSW, Professor Veena Maheshwari Dean JNMC, and Professor Ayesha Farooq, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Research were also present.

During his address, the Vice Chancellor Professor Gulrez, paid tribute to Begum Sultan Jahan as the pioneering first woman Chancellor of the university and urged students to persevere in their pursuit of academic excellence. Professor Naima Khatoon praised Begum Sultan Jahan’s remarkable accomplishments as both Chancellor and a strong, influential leader. She also admired the hall’s splendid décor.

Provost Professor Saira Mehnaz extended a welcome to the attendees, followed by the presentation of mementos, highlighting the contributions of individuals towards academia and student welfare. Senior Hall Monitor, Ms. Insha Siddiqui, expressed gratitude towards Vice Chancellor Mohammad Gulrez and shed light on the effective management within Begum Sultan Hall.

The evening also witnessed the introduction of a running trophy for Inter Hall Events, alongside the unveiling of the cover page of the hall magazine “Zyva-e-Safar.” Dr. Azeeza Rizvi’s unwavering commitment to sports was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Hall Committee and Wardens were honored for their invaluable services in promoting excellence and intellectual growth among resident students. Dr. Shyna Saif extended a vote of thanks. The Annual Hall Dinner not only celebrated achievements but also strengthened the resolve of Begum Sultan Hall in nurturing future leaders and scholars.
