Bombay High Court disposes of PIL seeking criminal action against fraudsters guilty of siphoning large amount of investors

The Bombay High Court disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed seeking criminal action against the respondents who have committed fraud and are guilty of siphoning of amount of large number of investors.

According to the counsel for the petitioner, a Special Investigating Team (SIT) be appointed consisting of expert financial investigators and the investigation be transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).

The Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submits that the crime has been registered on April, 2023 at Cyber Police Station, Pune. The investigation is now being carried out. Two accused are arrested.

In view of the fact that the State authority has already commenced the investigation, crime is also registered and two accused are arrested, the Bench held that at present it is not necessary to pass any further orders in the matter.

The respondents/authority may proceed with the investigation in accordance with law and take further steps accordingly , the Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice S.V. Gangapurwala and Justice Sandeep V. Marne directed.
