Australia won by achieving the target of 241 runs for four wickets in 43 overs. For Australia, Travis Head scored 137 runs and Marnus Labuschagne scored 58 not out. . For India, Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets and Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj took one wicket each. Earlier, the Indian team was all out for 240 runs in 50 overs. Lokesh Rahul scored 66, Virat Kohli scored 54 and captain Rohit Sharma scored 47 runs. For Australia, Mitchell Mark took three wickets and Josh Hazlewood and captain Pat Cummins took two wickets each.

A two-day international event ‘Shambhav -2023 ‘ by artists with disabilities (physical and mental) is being organized on 18th and 19th November, 2023 by Alpana ( Association for Learning Performing Arts and Normative Action Society byDisabled artists from Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, Sri Lanka and Thailand will participate in this two-day program. On the first day of the program, disabled artists from different participating countries showcased their talent through their performances. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the Indian Patent Office has granted 41,010 patents in this financial year till November 15, 2023 , which is the highest. On this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this is a ‘remarkable achievement’. This is a milestone in India’s journey towards an innovation-driven knowledge economy. He said, ‘India’s youth will greatly benefit from such progress.’ According to the World Intellectual Property Organization report, there was a 31.6 percent increase in patent applications by Indians in 2022.

6 ‘Hello Coconut’ call center unveiled by CDB​

In an important step to support coconut farmers and enhance coconut farming practices, Coconut Development Board (CDB) has recently launched “ Hello CoconutFriends of Coconut Trees (FOCT) call center facility. The objective of this initiative is to provide valuable assistance to farmers in various aspects of coconut harvesting and plant management operations. The primary objective of the “Hello Coconut” initiative is to create a dedicated platform to cater to the needs of coconut growers, providing expert guidance and service related to coconut cultivation. This initiative is expected to benefit farmers not only in Kerala but also in traditional coconut growing states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka through the respective unit offices of the Coconut Development Board. The “Hello Coconut” call center operates from the CDB headquarters in Kochi , acting as a central hub to provide assistance and information to coconut farmers.

7 Assam government approves merger of SEBA and AHSEC​

In a significant step towards educational reforms , the Assam Cabinet has given its approval to the merger of Assam Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) . The integrated entity will now be known as ‘ Assam State School Education Board ‘ ( ASSEB ). The objective of this decision is to raise the quality and standards of school education in the state. SEBA, which is responsible for conducting Class 10 exams, and AHSEC, which has been entrusted with the supervision of Class 12 board exams, will now function as a unified board under the banner of ASSEB.

JSW Infrastructure has recently announced receiving the award for the development of a Rs 4,119 crore state-of-the-art, all- weather , deepwater greenfield port at Kenny , Karnataka . JSW Infrastructure outlined the key features of the proposed Kenny Port, emphasizing modern, eco-friendly, mechanized facilities designed to handle Cape-sized vessels. The initial phase will have a capacity of 30 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), with ample scope for expansion in the long run. Kenny Port is strategically located between Mormugao Port in the north and New Mangalore Port in the south, which contributes to its importance in the region.

The four-day Chhath Puja ended on 20th November in the morning with offering Arghya to the rising sun . Thousands of devotees stood in waist-deep water at Chhath Ghats on the banks of rivers, ponds and reservoirs and offered Arghya to the Sun God. Devotees offered water and milk to the Sun God. Apart from this, seasonal fruits, sugarcane, coconut and dishes like Thekua, Khajuriya and other items kept in soup made from bamboo were also offered to Surya and Chhathi Mai. After the puja, the devotees took Prasad and broke the 36-hour long fast.
