The Assam government has announced an ambitious plan to construct 4,000 modern schools throughout the state in the next five years, with a completion target of 2028. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the enormity of this project, adding that Rs 5 crore will be allocated for high school infrastructure development in rural areas. The move also includes plans to enhance Anganwadi centres with a grant of Rs 25 lakh for each centre.
