The Education Minister of a state in India has announced that around 40,000 teachers working on contract basis in primary schools will be given regular appointments. The process is expected to be completed by March next year. The minister also stated that the earlier service length of the contractual teachers will not be considered, resulting in a decrease in their salary after joining regular posts.
