Every year, a total of 35 awards are given. 25 awards in Category I (Teachers of Higher Educational Institutions) and 10 awards in Category II (Teachers of Polytechnic Institutions) are conferred. The selected awardees will be felicitated on September 5, Teachers’ Day, in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India and a notable teacher. - The nominee must be a regular faculty member.
- They should have at least five years of full-time teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- They must NOT be over 55 years of age as of the last date for receiving applications for the awards.
- Vice-Chancellors, Directors, and Principals (whether regular or officiating) are not eligible to apply.
However, individuals who have previously held such positions but are still under 55 years of age and in active service are eligible.

- A Preliminary Search and Screening Committee for the initial shortlisting of candidates.
