For this The Primary Mathematics syllabus has been revised and will be put into effect as from the Scholastic Year (2023-2024).
The revised syllabus is aligned with the rationale and aims of the National Curriculum Framework and is also addressing feedback received on the current syllabus.

The textbook determines the teacher’s style of teaching in the class room. Besides the curriculum, textbooks too have a significant influence on pupils’ mathematical achievement This text book acts both as an authority in the transfer of knowledge and as a guide in the process of learning, while teachers see their own role in the interpretation of the textbook.
It is a mediator between the curricular policy contents on the one hand and the teaching instructions applied in the classroom on the other. This textbook provides inputs for teachers to make the teaching and learning joyful by engaging the students.

BLOSSOMS 1 and 2 is tailored with globalized themes catering to the needs of the young learners at primary level. The activities are child centered and indicated with logos. Both books consists of 8 units and 15 subunits. The subunits are divided into 6 segments and named as Warmup Time, Sharing Time, Action Time, Circle Time, Fun Time and Practice Time.
Each subunit begins with Warmup Time and it contains a big picture with interactive questions to keep the little ones active and lively. The colourful pictures portrayed in the Sharing Time and Action time help children to speak and talk. The Circle Time gives scope for sharing of ideas. Fun Time guides learners to enhance the skill of recognition and writing.
Practice time Focuses on sounds of short vowels. Language games and project works are included to involve and engage children. BLOSSOMS 1 & 2 is prepared with a moto to reduce the use of note books and lesson the burden of home works. The volume of the textbook has been reduced from pages 168 in the earlier text to 128 pages as of now.
The child friendly reader aims to meet the academic standards of the student’s depending on the levels of learning. A well supported workbook is prepared in parallel to the reader to give sufficient practice. Guidelines and learning outcomes are provided to the teachers in every lesson showing clearly as to how each part of the lesson can be taught to effect learning.
All the teachers at primary level can adopt a bilingual instructional method to facilitate the process of learning and the use of regional language should consistently be decreased. QR codes are provided in the lesson to help students and teachers make learning more interesting. BLOSSOMS 1 & 2 will help teachers and students to reach their targets.

- Mathematical games, puzzles and stories involving numbers are useful to enable children to make these connections and to build upon their everyday understandings. So they are included.
- Lives of mathematicians and stories of mathematical insights are not only endearing, they can also be inspiring. Students can be greatly inspired by understanding the seminal contributions made by Indian mathematicians in early periods of history. So, some mathematicians contributions are also included.
- The textbooks are simple and straight forward.
- Each class consists of three semester sets to be completed in one year.
- Workbook exercises are directly correlated with each concept of textbook.
- Brief teacher instructions are provided in each textbook to determine the best way to verbally explain a concept to the student. Teacher-student or student-student discussions are an important part of this program.
- Small QR code, usually located in the lower left hand side for English and lower right hand side for Telugu to know more about the concepts through videos for clear understanding of the concepts.
- Each topic is developed in detail from class 1 to 5 on the same document. This decision has been taken to facilitate differentiation and progression.
