AP Schools in the Andhra Pradesh state will be run only Half day from April 3rd. The government, municipal, aided and privately owned schools will run Half-a-day Schools under academic calendar for 2023-24.

In continuation of the orders issued in the reference 1 to 4th read above and in view of the severe heat conditions in the State the following instructions are issued to all the Regional Joint Director of School Education and the District Educational Officers in the State.

In this regard the Commissioner of School Education, AP has given clarifications to all the officials to run the schools for half – a – day from 8.00 A.M. to 12.30 PM due to summer from March 16th onwards, and further instructed to run the schools which are constituted as S.S.C Examination centre from 1.30 P.M to 5.00 P.M.
As per the AP School Academic Calendar, the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and the District Educational Officers would take necessary action in the matter accordingly. –

- Adequate drinking water should be provided in all the schools Coordinate with Gram Panchayat & RWS Department where ever and when ever required and ensure the same.
- Classes shall not be conducted in the open areas / under the trees etc., under any circumstances.
- Keep handy some Oral Re hydration Solution (ORS) sachets in every school for use of Students and Teachers if suffering from Sun/ Heat Stroke.
- Provide buttermilk during Mid Day Meals in coordination with local community/ Voluntary organisations.
- Monitor the above measures closely with Head Masters, Inspecting Officers and other officials and see that all precautions are Taken to avoid any hardship to the Students/ Teachers.
