Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the distribution of Jagananna Vidya Kanuka kits to 43,10,165 students of classes 1 to 10 in government and aided schools in Andhra Pradesh. The kits include bilingual textbooks, note and workbooks, uniforms, shoes, socks, a belt and a school bag. A dictionary is included in the kits for students of classes 6 to 10. The distribution of quality kits worth Rs. 2400 will help transform students into globally competitive products, says the CM. The government has spent Rs. 60,329 crore on education alone, implementing programmes like Amma Vodi and introducing CBSE syllabus and subject teacher concepts.
