AMU fraternity mourns demise of Dr. Manmohan Singh

Aligarh : The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Professor Naima Khatoon has expressed a deep sense of shock and grief on the demise of the former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh.

“The passing away of Dr Singh is a great loss to the nation. He was an architect of economic reforms in the country. Dr. Singh, a statesman and a much revered figure in Indian politics, epitomised dignity and simplicity. His services will always be remembered. I offer my deepest condolences to his family members”, Prof Khatoon remarked.

Notably, Dr. Manmohan Singh attended the convocation of Aligarh Muslim University as a chief guest on March 27, 2003. He addressed the gathering as an educator discussing the economic and educational affairs of the country and world and motivated the students to strive for excellence in their fields of studies.
