AMU faculty member attends Uppasal Dialogue for Collective Action on Antimicrobial Resistance

Aligarh : Dr Nafis Faizi, Department of Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) participated in a dialogue meeting on “the global need for effective antibiotics-unlocking barriers for collective action” jointly organized by the Uppsala University, Sweden and ReAct- Action against Antibiotic Resistance, within the framework of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The workshop was organized for the researchers working on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) to discuss antibiotic resistance and the steps needed to unlock barriers for collective action.

In view of his longstanding AMR activities at WHO and quadripartite agencies, Dr Nafis Faizi intervened as a panelist in a session on “Steps, Components and Targets for United Nations High-level political declaration proposed in 2024”.

He specifically talked about the expectations and how to make the political declaration successful.
