The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a petition of students who failed the PhD entrance exam in Sampurnanand University.

A single-judge bench of Justice Ajay Bhanot passed this order while hearing a petition filed by Pranjal Pandey and 13 Others.

The Court said the petitioners appeared in the examination and failed. Various grounds like location of the examination center are now being raised to assail the manner in which the exam was conducted. This is an afterthought. Pleadings as regards alleged irregularities are deficient and did not warrant any further inquiry by the Court.

As far as the respondent no 7 and 8 are concerned, the University in the counter affidavit has specifically asserted that they have been meritorious students all along. They excelled in the instant examination as well. These facts could not be refuted, the Court further said.

Accordingly, the Court dismissed the petition. “In view of the dismissal of the writ petition, the interview schedule of the successful candidates shall be declared forthwith,” the Court ordered.
