AICTE introduces ME, MTech, and PhD Programs under QIP

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has introduced full-time ME, MTech, and PhD programs under the Quality Improvement Program (QIP). Interested candidates can apply for these programs on the official website, .

AICTE is now accepting applications for the “AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme” from faculty members of AICTE-approved institutions. Based on the received applications, AICTE will assign applicants to the respective host institutions for the selection process.

Additionally, the PG Certification Programme will only commence at a host institution if at least 30 candidates are admitted into the course.

Candidates have until June 6, 2024, to apply, as interviews at the respective institutes will be conducted from June 18 to 20, 2024. The institutes will submit their lists to AICTE by June 20, 2024, and AICTE will announce the results on June 24, 2024. The program is set to begin on June 30, 2024.

The mandatory on-campus period will run from June 30 to July 12, 2024 while the online component (which may include some on-campus sessions) will take place from July 14 to December 11, 2024. Another mandatory on-campus period will occur from December 14 to December 26, 2024 with final evaluations conducted by the institutes between December 21 and December 26, 2024. The final results will be announced on January 13, 2025.

The admission guidelines for the AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme are as follows:


— Full-time regular or permanent faculty members of AICTE-approved degree or diploma level institutes, from core engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Civil, Material/Metallurgical, Electrical and Electronics, Chemical, etc.

— A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the graduate or diploma level in an AICTE-approved institution.

— In addition to the above minimum eligibility, the criteria of the respective host institution will apply.

The duration of the AICTE-QIP-PG certificate programme(s) is six months. Each session will have a batch size of 50 candidates at one identified host institution. The courses will be offered in a hybrid mode. Out of the total six months, a minimum of four weeks must be conducted offline.

Enrolled candidates are allowed two casual leaves per session and a maximum of one week of medical leave per session. Students must have at least 80 percent attendance for lectures (both off-campus and on-campus) and 90 percent attendance for lab work to be eligible for final evaluation and certification.
