1 43% increase in measles deaths by year 2021-2022​

According to a new assessment by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , the number of measles/measles deaths across the globe will increase by 2021-2022 due to declining vaccination rates. There has been an increase of 43% . Vaccination rates are lowest at 66 percent in low-income countries where the risk of measles deaths is highest, with no sign of containing the epidemic. Measles is a highly contagious viral disease spread by respiratory droplets spread when an infected person breathes, sneezes or coughs. Measles is caused by a single-stranded, enveloped RNA virus with one serotype. It is classified as a member of the genus Morbillivirus in the family Paramyxoviridae. Humans are the only natural host of the measles virus.

3. Governor cannot stop re-passed bills​

The Tamil Nadu government protested in the Supreme Court that the Governor was delaying the bills indefinitely, undermining the right of the people to benefit from essential laws enacted by the House . The Supreme Court took note of the Tamil Nadu government’s argument that the Constitution does not confer “discretionary power” on the Governor to stop bills being “re-passed” by the state assembly . The Supreme Court held that the first provision of Article 200 says: ” If the Bill is again passed by the House or Houses with or without amendment and is presented for the assent of the Governor, the Governor shall give his assent thereto.” Will not stop ”. The court also accepted the state’s argument that the Governor has withheld assent and once sent back the bills, hence he cannot send the passed bills back to the President. It was also observed by the Supreme Court that stalling the Bill also meant sending it back to the Legislature for reconsideration as returning the Bills to the House was a necessary consequence of withdrawal of consent.

6 Commerce Ministry to partner with e-commerce companies to promote exports from districts of the country​

As an important step to enable Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and promote e-commerce exports from the country, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has… Is cooperating with. 15 UNEP’s Emissions Gap Report 2023 released​

The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) recently released its 14th Emissions Gap Report 2023 , revealing a bleak outlook for limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Even with the most optimistic climate action projects, there is only a 14% chance of achieving this goal. Despite efforts to deliver existing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) by 2030, UNEP projects a rise of 2.5°C, exceeding the 2°C target set by the Paris Agreement. Current policy scenarios indicate a potential increase of 3 °C due to implementation lag, with only nine countries having updated their NDCs since the 2022 climate conference.

17 Mysterious E Prime Layer Discovered in Earth’s Core​

An international team of researchers, including scientists from Arizona State University , has discovered a mysterious layer in the outermost part of the Earth’s core , known as the E prime layer . The discovery is attributed to the penetration of surface water into the planet’s depths, altering the composition of the outermost region of the metallic liquid core. The Earth is made up of four primary layers : the inner core, the outer core, the mantle, and the crust. . The research, published in Nature Geoscience , challenges the previous assumption that the exchange of material between the core and mantle is minimal. Experiments have shown that when water reaches the core-mantle boundary, it reacts with silicon in the core, resulting in the formation of silica.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated Roshibina Devi , Kushal Kumar and Chhavi for winning medals in the recently held 16th World Wushu Championship in America . The 2023 World Wushu Championships was the 16th edition of the World Wushu Championships. It was held at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas, United States from November 16 to 20, 2023. India finished 18th in the medal table by winning a total of three medals including one silver and two bronze medals. In this competition, Roshibina Devi won the silver medal from India’s side, while Kushal Kumar and Chhavi won the bronze medal. The Chinese team topped the medal list by winning 15 gold medals . According to data from the International Wushu Federation, Vietnam’s team and China’s Macau team ranked second and third.

Addressing continuing challenges in cricket, the ICC’s introduction of the stop-clock system and a revised transgender policy have attracted global attention and also sparked discussions within the cricket community. The introduction of the stop-clock system aims to increase game play efficiency while addressing the persistent problem of time wastage between overs. This initiative will continue from December 1, 2023 to April 2024 . Male-to -female players who have gone through any type of male puberty are now ineligible to participate in women’s international cricket, regardless of surgical or gender reassignment treatment. According to previous International Olympic Committee guidelines, transgender women were required to maintain testosterone serum levels below 5 nanomoles for 12 months. However the ICC’s revised stance now excludes individuals who have experienced male puberty from competing in women’s international cricket.
