New Delhi: The National Testing Agency(NTA) has declared the CUET UG 2024 Result. Following the declaration of the NTA CUET UG Result, a merit list will be prepared by participating Universities/organizations. Universities will decide about their individual counselling on the basis of the Scorecard of CUET(UG) – 2024 provided by NTA.
Universities can conduct their own entrance exams for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses if seats remain vacant after the regular admission rounds, said the University Grants Commission on Thursday. The decision has been made with the aim of ensuring that no seat is left unfilled in any programme. The UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar has shared a video in which he explained the admission process for the Central Universities using the CUET score.
“This is the admission time again in the universities across the country. For central universities, we use the CUET scores for admission into undergraduate and postgraduate programs. UGC has sent a standard operating procedure on how to use these CUET scores to make admissions into various programs so that there are no vacant seats at the end of the admission process. When you make the first, second and third rounds of admissions using the CUET scores. If you find that some seats are vacant in some programs, UGC has advised the universities to relax the subject criteria in CUET to fill up these seats,” the UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar was quoted as saying to need agency ANI.
“Even after this effort, if seats are still unfilled in some programs, the university itself can conduct an entrance exam at the university level and offer admissions to the students so that all the seats in every program in your university are filled up. We should not leave any seats vacant. Every seat is valuable in our universities. The universities must make all efforts to ensure that students are offered admission in your university so that no seat is left unfilled,” UGC Chairman further added.
The National Testing Agency conducted the Common University Entrance Test (UG) – 2024in Hybrid Mode for about 14,99,790 unique registered candidates. These candidates applied for various combinations of subjects across 283 Central, State, and other participating universities / Institutions / Organizations for the Academic session 2024-2025 at various Examination Centres located in different cities across India and abroad.
