The University of Alabama has suspended two student magazines, Alice and Nineteen Fifty-Six. This action follows new federal guidance on antidiscrimination compliance. The university states this is a legal necessity to ensure all funded programs are accessible. Student editors express disappointment. The magazines will cease publication in their current format after Fall 2025.
