C3iHub, IIT Kanpur to launch Cybersecurity Skilling Program to make workforce future-ready​





  • Shri Vijay Sampla, Chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, to be the Chief Guest for the Launch Ceremony on 26th April


  • The program will have a duration of two months and will be free for SC/ST candidates


  • The program will be online and will cover core domains of cyber security

Kanpur, April 24, 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK), through its cybersecurity Technology and Innovation Hub, C3iHub, is launching a Cybersecurity Skilling Program to train learners in the growing landscape of cyber space and security. The program is supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India under NM-ICPS Mission, along with C3iHub-incubated startups Threat Guardians Pvt Ltd. and Workers Union Support, as the implementing partners. The program aims to provide learners with a deeper understanding of the technical basics of cyberspace and cyber issues, introduce real-time cybersecurity techniques and methods, and focus on the models, tools, and techniques for enforcing security.

The launch ceremony for the Cybersecurity Skilling Program will take place on April 26, 2023, and will be graced by Shri Vijay Sampla, Chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, as the Chief Guest. Shri Vijay Sampla has been a prominent leader and has served in various capacities in government and public life, including as a Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment.


“The launch of this Cybersecurity Skilling Program on April 26 in the presence of Shri Vijay Sampla, Chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, will pave the way for an immersive learning experience for students, professionals and enthusiasts. We’ve tried to cover the crucial aspects of cybersecurity comprehensively in the program, and are hopeful that it will help build a robust workforce,” said Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Project Director at C3iHub, IIT Kanpur.


The Cybersecurity Skilling Program is an excellent opportunity for students, professionals, and anyone interested in learning about cybersecurity to gain knowledge and expertise in this rapidly growing and changing field. SC/ST candidates will be able to avail the program for free. The program comes with a combination of deep academic rigor and intense practical approach, which will allow participants to master the required skills and build world class expertise.


The program explores the most critical elements beyond technology that shape the playing field on which cybersecurity problems emerge and are managed. The course covers system security, malware analysis, network security, cryptography, and IoT security. It is a fully online program providing students with both fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience. An integral part of the training is customized labs at every student's desk through the cyber range.


The online mode of the Cybersecurity Skilling Program will make it accessible to learners from anywhere in the country. The duration of the program is 8 weeks (6 hours per week) and will include live sessions, online assignments, and hands-on exercises. Upon completion of the program, learners will receive a certificate from C3iHub, which will add value to their professional profile.
