JSID Partners with ICTRC to Empower Design Thinking, Attended by 80+ School Counselors from 70+ Schools

JS Institute of Design (JSID), a pioneering design institute in India, was honored to serve as the knowledge partner at the Conference of School Teachers. Organized by the Institute of Counsellor Training Research and Consultancy (ICTRC) Private Limited, the conference brought together 80+ school counselors and teachers from 70+ schools across Delhi NCR. Mrs. Nirmal Yadav, Principal of Colonel’s Central Academy presided over the event as the Chief Guest, addressing the importance of embracing innovation in school curriculums to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving world.
JSID contributed significantly to the event’s success by showing practical applications of design thinking. Ms. Nien Siao, Dean of JSID, delivered a thought-provoking session on “Design Thinking,” highlighting its transformative impact on education and its potential to inspire creativity and problem-solving in the classroom. Known for her expertise and innovative approach in design education, Ms. Nien Siao guided participants on how design thinking can be applied in educational settings to enhance creativity and critical thinking among students.
Ms. Nien Siao remarked, “As educators, it is our profound responsibility to empower the next generation of thinkers, makers, and innovators. Design thinking offers a powerful framework for achieving this goal, by cultivating creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in our students. By applying design thinking principles in educational settings, we aim to create immersive learning experiences that foster empathy, creativity, and collaboration among students.”
The conference reinforced the need for collaborative initiatives in education to address the growing demand for adaptive learning methods. By integrating interdisciplinary approaches such as design thinking, educators are better positioned to prepare students for the future.
