IAS Abhishek Prakash Suspend: CEO of UP Investment, IAS Abhishek Prakash, has been making headlines across the country, but not for good reasons. He has been suspended by the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government for allegedly demanding a commission from an entrepreneur through a middleman. The entrepreneur approached the police and filed a complaint against IAS Prakash. So, who is IAS Abhishek Prakash, and what is his story?

Who is IAS Abhishek Prakash?​


Before being made the CEO of UP Investment, Abhishek Prakash was serving as the District Magistrate (DM) of Lucknow, Lakhimpur Kheri, Aligarh and Hamirpur districts. Apart from this, he also served as the Special Secretary in the Finance Department and Health Department of the Uttar Pradesh Government.

The Allegations​


As per a report, allegations of corruption and compensation with fake documents were made against Abhishek Prakash in the Lucknow Defence Expo land scam. Allegations of irregularities have also surfaced regarding compensation in the land acquisition for the Defence Corridor in Bhatgaon.

Abhishek Prakash Education Qualification​


Born in 1982, Abhishek Prakash is a 2006 batch IAS officer. He is originally from Bihar. Prakash completed his engineering from the prestigious IIT Roorkee between 2000 and 2004. After this, he also did an M.A in Public Administration and Public Policy.

Topped UPSC In 2005​


Abhishek Prakash became an IAS after passing the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2005. He not only cracked the civil service exam but also topped it with an All India Rank (AIR) of 8th. Initially, he was allotted the Nagaland cadre. Later, he changed his cadre to Uttar Pradesh.
