UPSC IFS Prelims Registration Last Date 2024: The Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) will close the registration process for the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination-2024 tomorrow, March 5, 2024. Candidates can fill up the UPSC IFS Prelims application form at or upsc.gov.in. The Union Public Service Commission will hold a Screening Test for selection to the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, 2024 through the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2024 which will be held on May 26, 2024, in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change in the Gazette of India dated the 14th February, 2024.

The Indian Forest Service Examination will consist of two successive stages:-

  • Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination; and
  • Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service.

UPSC IFS Prelims Registration 2024: How to Fill IFS Application Form?​


Candidates are required to apply online using the link for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination which will act as a screening mechanism for selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination. Candidates who wish to apply for the Civil Services Examination also, [subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions] have to apply once by appropriately indicating in the online application form that they intend to appear for both the Indian Forest Service Examination and the Civil Services Examination.

Candidates, who will qualify for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, will have to fill in a Detailed Application Form subsequently as per further instructions to be provided to the candidates through the website ( ) of the Commission.

  • Visit the official website at or upsc.gov.in.
  • On the homepage, look for the link that reads, “One-time registration (OTR) for examinations of UPSC and online application.”
  • Register yourself on the portal. Fill up the application form.
  • Upload the necessary documents and pay the application fee.
  • Save and submit the online application form.
  • Download a copy of it for future reference.

Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card on the last working day of the preceding week of the date of Examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available in the UPSC website [ ] for downloading by candidates.

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st August, 2024, i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1992 and not later than 1st August, 2003. For more details, visit the official website of UPSC.
