- Candidates have to enter all the details such as name, address, mobile number, email id, etc. to fill the application form.
- Upload scanned documents like photograph and signature in specified format.
- Candidate must fill the application form correctly as authority may not provide any correction facility to rectify mistakes.

- Step-3: Fill details such as name, education qualification, caste, and Address, contact number, etc.
- Step-4: Upload the scanned photo & signature in the prescribed size.
- Step-5: Pay the fee through online or Offline mode.
- Step-6: Download the application form.
- Step-7: Take the printout for future reference.
Thapar University Eligibility Criteria
Check the eligibility criteria for Thapar University 2023 admission given below:
For MBA courses:
- Qualification: Candidates must have graduate degree with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university/ Institute.
OR
From any recognized university/Institute, candidates must have post graduate degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
OR
Graduate candidates with a professional qualification must score minimum 50% in all parts/sections of the Intermediate examination of CA/CS/ICWA/Institute of Actuaries of India.
- Appearing: Appearing candidates in the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those candidates who have completed degree will be also eligible to apply.
Note: This must be noted by those candidates that, they will be allowed to join the program provisionally only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/ Institution (issued on or before June 30th, 2023) in case they get selected. Also, candidates must state that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate. Those candidates with extraordinary managerial leadership potential demonstrated through at least one year of experience are exempt from having 50% marks in their graduation/post-graduation.
In case of those candidates who belongs to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories must have minimum 45% to apply for the exam.
To apply for the exam, candidates must have a valid score of CAT/ NMAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ SNAP/ Thapar Entrance test.
For B. Tech courses:
- Qualification: Candidates must pass 12th class from any recognized board.
- Marks: Applying candidate must score minimum 60% (55% for SC/ ST category).
- Subjects: He/ she must qualify with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry (PCM) as compulsory subject along with any one of the subjects from Biotechnology/ Computer science/ Biology.
- Appearing: Candidates who will be appearing in their 12th class will be also eligible to apply.
For MCA course:
- Qualifying exam: Candidates must have qualified bachelor’s degree from any recognized university.
- Marks: Applying candidates must have scored 60% minimum marks (55% for SC/ ST candidates).
- Subjects: Candidates must have passed with Mathematics as a compulsory subject in 12th or at graduation level.
Thapar University 2023 Admission Procedure
The admission in Thapar University Admission 2023 will be provided on basis of marks secured by candidates in the entrance exam. In other courses, it will be provided on the basis of the national-level entrance tests.
The selection of the candidates will be done after releasing of the merit list. Only the shortlisted candidates in merit list will be considered eligible for counselling and further admission procedure.
Thapar University Entrance Exam 2023
The Thapar University 2023 entrance exam will be held via offline mode. It will be conducted for shortlisting the candidates for future counselling rounds. Candidates who will be successfully registered, only they will be allowed to participate in the entrance exam.
The examination will be held from 5th to 24th March 2023. It will be organised in English and Hindi language. The paper will contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) type questions. Candidates will be given 2 hours to solve the paper.
Thapar University 2023 Result
The Thapar University 2023 Result will be declared after the entrance exam and it will be available after one month of the exam. The university will declare the result via online mode and candidates should enter their details in order to check the result.
Candidates must keep the hard copy safe till the future reference. The result will decide that whether the candidates will get the admission into the University or not.
Thapar University 2023 Selection Process
Thapar School of Management is highly competitive & will be based on a comprehensive assessment of the intent & ability of the applicant to pursue a formal learning program in management. Candidates will be required to apply for MBA admission.
Candidates will get shortlisted on the basis of application form & further assessment & interview as per following:
- Professional Readiness: It is divided into two sections i.e., Video Statement of Purpose and Interview Video Statement of Purpose includes a short video with the duration of 3 minutes and must be in MP4 format. It must be submitted before the interview.
Also one must describe following points:
1.What is your motivation to pursue an MBA?
2.What is distinctive about you as a person?
3.Your dream for New India.
- Interview: It is an important step as candidates will be interacting with the admission panel where candidates will be judged on various parameters such as willingness to learn, motivation to pursue MBA, task oriented, team player, energetic, takes initiative, capacity of hard work, empathy, and woke about social cause.
- Academic Readiness: It is based on candidates’ performance in various national level entrance exam such as CAT/ XAT/ GRE/ GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ NMAT/ SNAP. The candidates who have not taken any of the above mentioned exam will be required to take Thapar Management Aptitude Test (TMAT) on the day of interview. Candidates are also allowed to take TMAT exam even if they have appeared for CAT/ GRE/ XAT/ GMAT/ MAT/ NMAT/ SNAP national level entrance exam.
Note: The scores in various exam are scaled and normalized for fair balancing.
- Academic History: The candidates must have 10th class record, 12th class record and Graduation record (Penultimate year).
Thapar University 2023 Merit Score
The merit score of Thapar university will be calculated on the components such as A, B, C as 45%, 40% & 15% respectively. However A, B, C are the applicant’s sore in Professional Readiness, Academic Readiness & Academic History respectively.
Final Merit list will be prepared on the basis of NET score. It will be calculated by the given formula as:
Net Score = (0.45*A) + (0.4*B) + (0.15*C).
Thapar University 2023 Counselling
Thapar University counselling 2023 will be held in various rounds. The counselling will be held through offline mode. The candidates will be called for counselling on the basis of the merit list prepared by the university and the choice entered. At the time of counselling, candidates will also have to pay the fee.
The qualified candidates will attend the counselling process. Seats will be confirmed only after verification & fee submission. Candidates will have to carry following documents at the time of verification.
