ABOUT FACULTY OF LAW, PES UNIVERSITY
The Faculty of Law, PES University was established in 2017, under the guidance of our Hon’ble Founder and Chancellor, Dr. M.R Doreswamy, with a vision of establishing a global law school. The institution is also guided and mentored by several legal luminaries like Justice M.N Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice, Supreme Court of India.
The Faculty of Law offers BBA LLB (Hons.) and BA LLB (Hons.) five-year integrated programs. Our curriculum includes specializations in Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Law, Constitutional Law, and Criminal Law. Recognizing the glory and responsibility associated with the legal profession, we have fine tuned the nuances of legal education to meet the demands of the modern era. The Faculty of Law offers state-of-the-art infrastructure and digitally enabled learning facilities that greatly enhance the educational experience of our law students. With 24 student-run committees and clubs, alongside university-level clubs, our students benefit from a rich array of curricular and extracurricular opportunities. These include the Moot Court Committee, Legal Services Committee, Advanced Criminal Law Committee, Debate Committee, Corporate Law Committee, Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, and the Center for Intellectual Property Rights, among others.
In line with our commitment to social responsibility, we have adopted five villages where our Legal Services Clinics provide essential legal assistance to underserved communities, allowing our students to contribute meaningfully to society.
NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2025
The National Moot Court Competition 2025, organized by the Faculty of law, PES University in collaboration with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India is a national-level competition that provides an exceptional platform for law students to showcase their advocacy skills on the topic of Corporate Insolvency and Bankruptcy laws. The event is designed to simulate real courtroom proceedings, allowing participants to argue complex legal issues in front of experienced judges. This competition not only hones their legal research and oral advocacy skills but also promotes teamwork and professional growth.
OBJECTIVES
Engage deeply with corporate insolvency laws to foster critical thinking skills applicable in real-life scenarios.
Develop advanced advocacy, legal research, and drafting skills.
Enhance teamwork by collaborating effectively in a competitive setting.
Promote a strong commitment to legal practice through active participation.
Tackle complex legal scenarios and case studies in a simulated courtroom environment.
Understanding the intricacies of the Constitutional laws and Insolvency and Bankruptcy laws.
DATES AND VENUE
The National Moot Court Competition 2025 will be held at PES University, Bengaluru, from 21st to 23rd February 2025. The event includes preliminary round 1, preliminary round 2, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the grand-finale round, all held on campus.
22nd January 2025 – Last Date of Registration
23rd January 2025 – Last date to seek Clarifications. (Clarifications will be released within 3 days)
9th February 2025 – Last date for submission of the soft copy of the Memorial
21st February 2025 – Inaugural Ceremony, Researchers Test and Submission of hard copy of memorials
22nd February 2025 – Preliminary Round 1, Preliminary Round 2, and Quarter Finals Round
23rd February 2025 – Semi-finals, Grand Finale and Valedictory ceremony
ELIGIBILITY
Law students enrolled in a full-time three-year LL.B. program or five-year integrated LL.B. (Hons.) programs from any institution recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate.
Only 32 teams will be registered on a first-come-first-serve basis.

WINNING TEAM: Rs. 40,000/- + Three (3) one-year complimentary subscription to SCC Online Web Edition to be distributed to the winning team worth Rs. 24,000 each. + Winners Trophy + Certificate of Merit + An internship opportunity with IBBI.
RUNNERS UP: Rs. 30,000/- + Runners-up Trophy + Certificate of Merit + An internship opportunity with IBBI.
