Hon’ble Prime Minister in his speech on 15th August 2021 at Red Fort had declared 14th August to be observed as “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day”. Ministry of Education had accordingly organized series of events on or around 14th August since 2022. Like the previous years, this year too a series of activities are planned to observe the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. The Partition Horrors Remembrance Day has been envisaged to bring to light the agony, sufferings and pain of millions of people who were sufferers of partition. It is to remind the country about the largest displacement of human population in the last century, which also claimed the lives of a large number of people. To showcase the suffering of the partition affected people, a play has been curated by National School of Drama (NSD). The script of the play is designed to educate and raise awareness among students about the events of Partition, the impact it had on millions of lives and the importance of remembering this chapter of our history. |
