About NUALS MUN’25
The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi, is excited to announce that we will be hosting the NUALS Model United Nations (MUN) 2025, which is set to take place on January 24th, 25th and 26th.
Since its inception in 2019, NUALS MUN has rapidly emerged as a highly regarded Model United Nations conference within the southern regional circuit. Each successive conference has been met with remarkable success, with participants consistently praising the dynamic committee structures, intellectually stimulating debates, and exceptional standard of professional execution that distinguishes NUALS MUN. The multifaceted components of the event are masterfully coordinated by meticulously selected Executive Board members who ensure seamless and punctual proceedings. For NUALS MUN’25, the conference has also secured affiliation with the Russian House in Chennai, a unique feat, promising a one-of-a-kind, enriched, and authentic diplomatic experience.
Committees hosted at NUALS MUN’25
The NUALS MUN’25 features an array of contemporary committees including DISEC, UNHRC, AIPPM, and IP, with a distinctive addition of UN Women, which is supported by the university’s dedicated Research Centre for Women and Family Studies;
DISEC: The UNGA Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) at NUALS MUN’25 will serve as a forum for delegates to discuss and address international security challenges, with participants working to develop diplomatic solutions to complex global security issues.
UNHRC: At NUALS MUN’25, the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) will provide a platform for delegates to engage in structured discussions about global human rights challenges, focusing on collaborative problem-solving and developing pragmatic approaches to protecting and promoting human rights across different international contexts.
AIPPM: At NUALS MUN’25, the All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM) committee will simulate the complex dynamics of Indian political discourse, providing delegates with an opportunity to explore contemporary national political challenges through structured debate, policy development, and collaborative problem-solving that reflects the multifaceted nature of India’s democratic process.
IP: At NUALS MUN’25, the International Press (IP) committee will provide a comprehensive media simulation, documenting and reporting on the proceedings of various committees, capturing the nuances of diplomatic discussions, and offering critical analysis of the simulated international negotiations and debates.
UN Women: At NUALS MUN’25, this specialized committee, developed in collaboration with the university’s Research Centre for Women and Children, will focus on examining global issues related to gender equality, women’s rights, and social empowerment. Delegates will engage in substantive discussions, analyzing current challenges and developing strategic approaches to promote gender equity and social justice across different international contexts.
