UPSC Exam: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam is considered to be one of the toughest and challenging competitive examinations in India. UPSC is a government agency that conducts the examination and is responsible for recruiting officers into the civil services of the country. Every year, it conducts the exam and selects candidates based on pre-selected criteria.

The civil services include services like the IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS, etc. that form a part of India’s civil services – the backbone of the country’s administration. Today, in this article, we will delve into the life of Apala Mishra, whose remarkable journey is a testament to unwavering perseverance and determination.

Apala Mishra is from a very reputed family, her brother serves as a Major in the army, and her father is a retired Colonel. Her mother Dr Alpana Mishra, is a professor at Delhi University. Apala, who hails from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, cracked the Civil Services test with an AIR 9 after three years of studying in 2020.

Apala who used to study for almost 8 hours daily, received 215 out of 275 marks, making her the highest scorer in the previous five years. She did not become an IAS officer, nevertheless. Surprising as it may seem, her first option was to become an IFS officer.
