MEd Distance Education Admission 2023: MEd is a two-year postgraduate program offered after a bachelor’s degree (B.Ed.) program. During the MEd Distance Education program, students learn to create an inclusive study environment and improve their teaching practices. Many Universities offer admission to this course.

MEd Distance Education Admission


Except for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), there is one more distance university that opens the gate every year in July/January cycle for an M.Ed. degree program: Netaji Subhas Open University.

The admission to the Master of Education in Open Distance Learning program is entirely based on merit. A merit list is based on graduate scores. A Distance MEd program has an average admission fee of INR 12000/- to INR 35000/-. Most universities accept online application forms but in some remote areas, the application form is available in offline form. Applicants who wish to enroll in a postgraduate program at the distance level may deposit fees via online banking or offline.

MEd Distance Education at IGNOU


Indira Gandhi National Open University is offering admission to the MEd course for the January session of 2023. Admissions are available to eligible candidates. To be eligible, a candidate should have passed BEd with 55% marks from any UGC-approved university. Apart from it, 2 years of teaching experience after completing the BEd is also required.

The MEd course duration is 2 years and is further divided into 4 semesters. The medium of the course is English.

MEd courses fee is Rs. 36,000 for the entire programme of two years.

  • Graduation in the discipline of B.Ed are eligible
  • Scored 50% to 55% of aggregate marks in graduation from a recognized university/college

MEd Distance Education Admission Procedure

Step 2. Candidates can get admission by filling out the online application form.
Step 3. In the application form, applicants need to fill in all the correct details.
Step 4. Application forms with errors will be rejected
Step 5. Payment for the application fee + entrance exam fee can be made online mode, i.e., net banking, debit card, credit card, or offline mode, i.e., D.D., e-challans.
Step 6. The candidate should collect the fee payment receipt as soon as the payment is made.
Step 7. The candidate will receive an email and SMS confirming the registration.
