Government appoints Justice Vibhu Bakhru as Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court

The President of India on 3-12-2024, in exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution, appointed Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Judge of the Delhi High Court, to perform the duties of office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from the date Justice Manmohan, Chief Justice, Delhi High Court relinquishes charge of his office consequent upon his elevation as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India. Justice Manmohan was appointed as Judge of Supreme Court on 3-12-2024.

Justice Vibhu Bakhru received his LL. B degree in 1990 and enrolled as an Advocate with Bar Council of Delhi in September 1990. He practiced in High Court of Delhi, Company Law Board and various other Tribunals and was designated as Senior Advocate by High Court of Delhi on 28-7-2011.

Justice Bakhru was appointed as Additional Judge of High Court of Delhi on 17-4-2013 and became a Permanent Judge on 18-3-2015.
