Delhi High Court: In a bail application filed by former Indian Administrative Service (‘IAS’) probationer Puja Khedkar in regard to a criminal case lodged against her for alleged cheating and wrongly availing Other Backward Classes (‘OBC’) and disability quota benefits, a Single Judge Bench of Chandra Dhari Singh, J. declined her anticipatory bail.

Allegedly, Puja Khedkar had submitted forged certificates whereby she presented herself as a person with benchmark disability and a member of OBC category to clear the civil services exam.

Puja Khedkar had been granted interim protection from arrest vide order dated 12-08-2024 by a Single Judge Bench of Subramonium Prasad, J. and on 28-11-2024, the Court had reserved its judgement on the bail application.

Puja Khedkar’s candidature was cancelled by the Union Public Service Commission (‘UPSC’) and she was debarred from appearing in future examinations held by UPSC on the contention that she had availed more attempts than were permitted under the Civil Services Examination Rules.
