1 Constitution is now in Sanskrit and Maithili too​

On the completion of 75 years of the Constitution of the country , a special program was held on 26 November in the Central Hall of the old Parliament. During this program, President Draupadi Murmu released copies of the Constitution in Sanskrit and Maithili . A coin and a postage stamp were also released on the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. Two books – ‘ The Creation of the Indian Constitution: A Glimpse ‘ and ‘ The Creation of the Indian Constitution and its Glorious Journey ‘ were also released. The Constituent Assembly passed the Constitution of India on 26 November 1949. On 19 November 2015, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced to celebrate ‘Constitution Day’ on 26 November every year. On 26 January 1930, the Congress gave the slogan of complete independence of the country. That is why the date of 26 January 1950 was awaited to implement the Constitution . In 1929, the oath of ‘Purna Swaraj’ was taken for the first time in the Lahore session of the Congress chaired by Jawaharlal Nehru. In the convention, a demand was made to the British government that India should be given sovereign status by 26 January 1930. Purna Swaraj or Independence Day was celebrated for the first time on 26 January 1930. Independence Day was celebrated on 26 January for the next 17 years, i.e. 15 August 1947. Due to the importance of this day, the Constitution of the country was implemented on 26 January in 1950 and it was declared Republic Day. The Constituent Assembly prepared the Constitution after 2 years 11 months and 17 days of hard work. The original English copy of the Constitution has 1 lakh 17 thousand 369 words. It has 444 articles, 22 parts and 12 schedules.




2 Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Russia, warship ‘Tushil’ will be inducted into the Navy

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Russia on 8-10 December . After visiting Moscow and Kaliningrad, on 9 December, he will induct the guided-missile frigate INS Tushil into the Indian Navy fleet . This warship will be the first of the four frigates being built for the Indian Navy. Its induction will give a big boost to India’s naval power amid emerging strategic challenges in the Indo-Pacific. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will hold talks with his Russian counterpart Andrey Belousov during this period. India had signed a deal with Russia in 2016 for four guided missile frigates . A contract worth $1 billion was finalised for the direct purchase of the first two frigates. After this, in November 2018, Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) through Indian partnership signed a deal of $500 million with Rosoboronexport for material, design and technical assistance to build the remaining two ships domestically . The formal contract between the Indian Defence Ministry and GSL was signed in January 2019. According to the contract, Russia will supply two frigates INS Tushil and INS Tamala , while the other two will be built in India with technical assistance from Russia.

3 ‘One Nation One Subscription’ plan​

A new central scheme ‘ One Nation One Subscription ‘ (ONOS) has been approved in the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi . The government has also set a budget of Rs 6,000 crore for the ONOS scheme. The ONOS scheme aims to increase the access of students and researchers across the country to research articles and journal publications of all the scholars of the world . About 13,000 high-impact e-journals (E-Booklets) will be made available from 30 leading international publishers under this scheme. The Higher Education Department will have a separate portal ‘One Nation One Subscription’ for this, through which users will be able to access research journals. The Research National Research Foundation (ANRF) will assess the use of the ONOS scheme from time to time and will also monitor the publications made by Indian authors from these institutions. The scheme will be operated through a completely simple, user-friendly and digital process.

Voyage Sri Lanka-2024, a conference on the potential of Blue Economy in the Indian Ocean Region was held in Colombo . Speaking at the conference, Dr. Naresh Bana, Vice President, India-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry , said that the Neighbourhood First Policy and extensive trade and commerce between India and Sri Lanka are important for both countries. The event was organized by the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka in Colombo, bringing together experts and stakeholders from the region on the Blue Economy. The Blue Economy contributes 4 per cent of India’s GDP. It accounts for 95 per cent of all international trade. India’s G-20 Presidency highlighted the need to build a sustainable and resilient Blue Economy.

5 Maharashtra government reinstated Rashmi Shukla as DGP and head of the state police force​

The Maharashtra government has reinstated Ms Rashmi Shukla as Director General of Police-DGP and head of the state’s police force . According to an order issued by the state’s home department, the decision was taken after the results of the assembly elections. Senior IPS officer Sanjay Kumar Verma was temporarily handling the charge of DGP after Ms Rashmi Shukla was removed from her post. The change was due to a directive from the Election Commission ahead of the assembly elections.

6 Eight-year-old Divith Reddy of India won gold medal in Under-8 World Cadet Chess Championship in Italy​

India’s eight-year-old Divith Reddy has won the gold medal in the Under-8 World Cadet Chess Championship in Italy . Telangana ‘s Divith scored nine out of a maximum of 11 points. His score was equal to Indian player Satvik Swain, but Divith won the gold medal on the basis of his better tie-break score. Satvik got the silver and China’s Jiming Guo got the bronze medal. Divith won the first four matches in the championship. He made a brilliant comeback after two consecutive defeats and won the title by winning the last five rounds.

7 National Doping Agency imposes four-year suspension order on Bajrang Punia​

India’s National Doping Agency has imposed a four-year suspension order on Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Bajrang Punia . Bajrang Punia refused to give samples for doping test on March 10 during the national team selection trials . Earlier, the agency had temporarily suspended Bajrang Punia on April 23. After this, the world governing body – United World Wrestling also suspended him. Bajrang Punia’s appeal to lift the temporary ban was rejected by the agency’s disciplinary anti-doping committee on May 31. On June 23, the agency issued a formal notice of charge to Punia, which Punia challenged. The final suspension order was confirmed after hearings held on September 20 and October 4. The four-year ban will prevent Bajrang Punia from returning to wrestling competitions and will also debar him from applying for international coaching roles.

8 10th Constitution Day​

India, the world’s largest democratic country, will celebrate its 10th Constitution Day on Tuesday, November 26. On the instructions and initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Constitution Day was first celebrated on November 26, 2015, when the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the father of the Constitution, was being celebrated. Every year we celebrate the anniversary of the implementation of the Indian Constitution on January 26 as Republic Day, but our Constitution was adopted on November 26. This date, which was buried somewhere between the pages of history, was remembered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the year 2015. From November 26, 2015, the celebration of Constitution Day started every year in the country. This year also marks the completion of 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution. The Constitution of India is the largest and most detailed in the world. When it was implemented, it had 395 articles, 22 parts and 8 schedules. The total number of words in it was about 1,45,000.

9 Essar Group co-founder Shashi Ruia passes away​

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the demise of industrialist Shashikant Ruia . Essar Group co-founder Shashi Ruia passed away after a prolonged illness. 80-year-old industrialist Shashi Ruia, along with his brother Ravikant Ruia (aka Ravi Ruia), founded the Essar Group in 1969, a company involved in businesses ranging from metals to technology. Shashikant Ruia started his career in 1965 under the guidance of his father Nand Kishore Ruia and laid the foundation of Essar in 1969 by building an outer breakwater at Chennai Port. Essar Group today has business in many sectors including steel, oil refining, investigation and production, telecom, power and construction.
