The primary objective is to foster a platform for critical discussions on contemporary legal issues and to promote academic engagement among students, scholars, and legal practitioners. About XV National Conference 2024-25
The Two-Day Conference on the “Emerging Trends and Future Challenges in Competition Law: National and International Perspectives”, being organised by the National Conference Committee at School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, serves as a significant platform for scholars, advocates, policymakers, and students to engage in meaningful discussions on the evolving landscape of competition law in India in the face of modern-day conundrums.
The conference aims to address the importance of fair market practices in protecting consumer rights, focusing on deceptive advertising, fraudulent practices, and the role of competition law in maintaining consumer welfare and fair competition. It will explore the intersection of intellectual property rights and competition policy, discussing strategies to foster innovation while ensuring fair competition, as well as addressing challenges like international cartels and enforcement cooperation. Key topics include fostering innovation without enabling monopolistic behavior, particularly in the technology sector, and the regulatory challenges posed by big tech companies and data-driven markets, including antitrust issues related to algorithms and AI. The conference will also assess recent high-profile mergers and their effects on market competition, review regulatory approaches to merger control, and examine competition law issues in sectors like telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and energy, considering how sector-specific regulations impact competition.

The conference aims to bring together experts, policymakers, practitioners and academics to discuss and deliberate on these themes. Abstract: The abstract should not exceed 300 words, outlining the methodology and the tentative outcomes of the research and must be accompanied with a cover page stating:

All submissions of the abstracts for the National Conference must be electronically submitted. to submit your abstract.
Full Paper:
The word limit of the full paper shall be 3000 – 4000 words (excluding footnotes/annexures/reports etc.) and must accompanied with a cover page with the following details:

Formatting Guidelines
The main text of the full paper and the abstract should be in Times New Roman with a font size of 12 and line spacing of 1.5, and the text should be justified.
The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with spacing of 1.0 (Endnotes are not permitted).
One-inch margins should be maintained on all four sides of the pages.
Citation Style: Bluebook, 21st edition.
The abstract and full paper must be submitted in PDF and Word format.
Note
Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors, and at least one author must attend the National Conference to present the paper.
Similarity of content (Plagiarism) should not exceed 10%.
No Proxy presentations are allowed.
School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, in keeping with its mandate of publishing original works only, adopts a stringent anti-plagiarism policy. Any paper containing any unattributed work is thus liable to be rejected.
