Ahmedabad : Anant National University, in collaboration with India Accelerator, held the first-ever Swaastha Healthcare Accelerator Demo Day, an event designed to support healthcare and allied-domain start-ups across India, specifically those with deployed or deployment-ready solutions. Launched earlier this year, the Swaastha initiative aims to foster an ecosystem where visionary entrepreneurs, experienced mentors, industry leaders, and investors come together to nurture and elevate groundbreaking ideas. The Demo Day provided a platform for selected start-ups to showcase their innovative solutions and engage with potential investors.

Shri M Nagarajan, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate of Mehsana, graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Demo Day brought together a diverse group of 20 investors, including Mr Jatin Lal, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Piramal Pharma, representatives from India Accelerator, Cognoscent Ventures, ICICI Bank, IDFC, Shurup, as well as angel investors and incubation centers.

Out of 180 applications received for the Swaastha programme, eight start-ups were selected to present their innovative solutions. These start-ups are focused on areas such as medical-grade monitoring for foetal, maternal, and newborn health, animal-free alternatives, creating an anaemia-free India, revolutionizing healthcare delivery through technology, precision tools for improving IVF treatment, an AI-powered rehabilitation app, sleep and emotional health solutions, and affordable on-demand medical equipment rental. Each start-up pitched their initiatives and financial requirements to the investors.

India Accelerator announced an investment of ₹53 lakh in the start-up Janitri. Additionally, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with Genesis Biotech Pvt Ltd, Helyxon, and Cosmo Ecosystem Care Pvt Ltd to support their business development and scaling efforts. Anant students will collaborate with these start-ups, contributing design expertise. The event also saw the launch of the Swaastha Healthcare Coffee Table Book.

Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Shri M Nagarajan, IAS, remarked, “The Swaastha Accelerator Programme is a textbook example of execution and should be replicated by others in the ecosystem.”

Dr. Anunaya Chaubey, Provost of Anant National University, stated, “All communities across the world need people who can solve problems and create jobs, and that is precisely what these start-ups represent.”

Mr. Munish Bhatia, Co-Founder of India Accelerator, added, “We are proud to have been part of this groundbreaking programme that unites academia, acceleration, and industry. By supporting these start-ups, we aim to create a thriving healthcare ecosystem for innovation.”

Swaastha focuses on establishing connections between start-ups, industry professionals, and clinical trial support. Since its launch, 30 mentorship sessions featuring renowned industry speakers have been conducted, providing need-based guidance to participating start-ups.
