About TATR
Located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve is one of India’s preeminent reserves. Its tropical dry deciduous forest ecosystem harbours at least 80 tigers, and there are over 200 tigers in the larger landscape. This is known to be the fastest-growing tiger population in the country. Tadoba also supports several other carnivore species, including the leopard and dhole, with the sambar, chital, wild pig and gaur being the most common prey species.

In which Subject TATR Internship Is Available?
- Ecology
Scope of Work: To document the recovery of tigers and their prey from specific areas within the reserve.
Required Skills: Statistical analysis, Density-distance software, IR programming, GIS Prior experience with similar research
- Media & Communications
Scope of Work: To assist with our media presence
Required Skills : Strong English and Marathi writing and editing skills Knowledge of social media Conservation background/interest and knowledge of wildlife ■Graphic Designing and/or marketing skill highly preferable
- Sociology
Scope of Work: To study the impact of tourism and livelihood related activities initiated by the tiger reserve on the socio-economic status of communities
Required Skills: Strong interpersonal skills Knowledge/experience with social/ethnographic research and analysis Critical thinking
- Alternative Livelihoods
Scope of Work: To develop an alternate livelihood program for communities residing around the tiger reserve
Required Skills: Strong interpersonal skills Experience working with marginalized communities and/or those living in and around wildlife reserves Research and analysis Experience with designing programs that are practical, measurable and scalable

- Solid Waste Management
Scope of Work: To develop a model to manage the solid waste generated around the tiger reserve
Required Skills: Awareness on environmental and sustainability issues Knowledge of various waste management solutions ■Experience with designing programs that are practical, measurable and scalable. ■Background in civil/ environmental engineering (preferred, but not required)

While prior professional experience in the relevant field is highly desirable, deserving freshers with suitable qualifications will be considered.
Salary/Stipend : No salary/stipend will be offered. Lodging and boarding will be provided for the selected candidates. An official work experience/certificate of appreciation shall be provided at the end of a successful internship.
Duration : Interns will work with the TATR Conservation Foundation for a period of one month between May and June 2023, depending on the work requirements and the willingness of the candidate.
